2017 Wedding Dress Trends: The Top 20 To Fall For

17 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Wedding Dresses

While it might seem like a lifetime away, wedding planning for 2017 is in full swing for couples everywhere, with cake tastings, gift registries, and color schemes on the brain. But for brides, one element takes precedence above all else: the dress.

Lucky for all you brides-to-be out there, we’ve sorted through the mountains of fluffy tulle and endless piles of flowing veils to find the hottest 2017 Wedding Dress trends that are poised to take off in the coming year.

Our top takeaways? Skin is in, pants are the new gowns, and immaculate white dresses are soooo passé.

Fresh off the bridal week runways, we present the top 20 Wedding Dress trends for 2017!

2017 Wedding Dress Trends:

1. Colorful Couture:

It’s a nice day for a… pink wedding? Classic ivory and cream have officially taken a backseat to Insta-worthy shades of fuchsia, violet, and mint, which have all officially made their bridal gown debut.

But the most popular picks by far are Serenity and Rose Quartz, the current Pantone Colors of the Year. Be your own “something blue” in the former, a calming sky blue hue, or embrace your inner blushing bride in the latter, an ultra-feminine pale pink.

2. Plunging Necklines:

Weddings are about to get a whole lot sexier in 2017, with a flood of deep – and we mean deep – V-necklines. The styles run the gamut from the comparatively demure, with sheer panels providing a moderate amount of coverage, to down-to-there, practically navel-grazing cuts.

Let’s just say that with the abundance of cleavage-baring styles that’s coming down the pike, the fashion tape industry had better be prepared.

3. Cutouts Galore:

In the same vein, strategically placed cutouts are popping up left and right, exposing skin like it’s never been exposed before. That’s not to say these details are salacious – they’re far from sending grandma running for the hills, made tasteful and not tacky.

Subtly sexy side gaps and slight midriff-baring slits are the name of the game with the new wave of skin-baring silhouettes.

4. Off-the-Shoulder Styles:

Brides everywhere will be giving the cold shoulder in this ubiquitous ready-to-wear trend, which has officially infiltrated the world of bridal dressing. There are no rules here; designers aren’t sticking to one look, but rather, experimenting with various shoulder-baring cuts, from the structured straight-across neckline to artfully draped curtains of fabric dipping gently over the limbs.

5. Peek-a-Boo Panels:

Another top 2017 Wedding Dress trend are these bits of sheer illusion fabric covering racy cutouts, blanketing bodices, or cloaking the bride head to toe, with just enough coverage to narrowly avoid indecent exposure.

(Think Beyoncé’s 2015 Met Gala stunner, a barely-there Givenchy number with strategically placed beaded embroidery… and not much else.)

6. Menswear Elements:

Bridal couture is no longer relegated to the one-note gown, with brides stealing from the boys in the coming season. While we’ve seen menswear-inspired elements in bridal couture before, 2017 will bring tailored pieces with structure and clean lines, like a one-piece fitted jumpsuit with sheer overskirt, a pantsuit with ruffled peplum detail for a bit of girly flair, and a pair of wide-leg trousers with a curve-hugging tunic top.

7. Elegant Toppers:

Who says capes are just for superheroes? Brides everywhere will be copping Wonder Woman’s style with elegantly appointed capelets and other unique toppers, including boleros, ponchos and even bomber jackets.

These demure coverings are the perfect way to take the season’s overtly sexy styles from the vows to the reception, with the two-in-one designs allowing the bride to easily transition from conservative to come-hither.

8. Detachable Skirts:

While we’re on the topic of two looks in one, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the detachable overskirt. Whether you’re seeking a style that allows for a quick costume change post-vows, or you’re looking to shed the weight of a hefty layered skirt or lengthy train to kick up your heels on the dance floor, you’re bound to find the right option for you amidst the flood of choices this season.

9. 3-D Florals:

Ok, so three-dimensional floral details aren’t exactly new to the bridal market, but they’re one of the 2017 Wedding Dress trends picking up steam. With this next wave, the pretty petals will be appearing in fresh, unexpected ways – think curvaceous appliqués woven through stark geometric patterns, eye-popping buds peeking out from beneath the tiers of a skirt, and a garden of blooms dancing across the edge of an off-the-shoulder bodice.

willowby-by-watters-elodie david-tutera-leia-1

10. Larger-Than-Life Bows:

To be clear, these aren’t your everyday cutesy bows. Far from understated, these over-the-top loops are high drama, drawing the gaze and holding it firmly in its grasp.

With the forthcoming styles, we’ll see the enormous accents gracing backs, adorning waistlines, accenting trains and securing the neckline from behind.

11. Victorian Collars:

On the opposite end of the skin-baring spectrum, Victorian collars have taken hold. The prim and proper necklines reach high, ringing the neck in a conservative swath of fabric.

Opt for intricately embroidered lace for a regal look that hearkens back to Queen Victoria herself, or choose structured satin for a modern take on the trend.

12. Long Sleeves:

In the oft-replicated style of Duchess Kate, conservative long sleeves are gaining serious traction. With the new guard, we’re seeing these coverings mainly on slim sheath styles for a body-hugging head-to-toe design.

13. Slip Dresses:

Once again, mainstream fashion has trickled down to the bridal market in no time flat. The über-popular boudoir-inspired slip dress is transformed into a slinky bridal style, with silky, touchable fabrics, delicate spaghetti straps, lacy accents and flowing, effortless layers.

14. Flirty Feathers:

It’s official – birds of a feather have flocked to, well, next year’s bridal couture. Otherwise traditional styles will be accented with wispy plumes for a serious dose of texture and a weightless, airy feel. Gowns will boast anywhere from a smattering of soft quills to a blanket of flirtatious feathers for a strikingly bold silhouette.

15. Stunning Silver:

Once again bucking tradition, white dresses will give way to heavy metals in the coming year. These brand-new sparkling bridal creations include oversized sequin paillettes, heavily beaded embroidery, and silvery fringe. Buh-bye, basic!

16. Rising Hemlines:

Forget the cumbersome floor-length frocks – the new surge of bridal fashion features higher hemlines that let the bride show a little leg. Kick up your heels in a high-low design, reminiscent of Whitney Port’s custom creation with waterfall hem, or opt for a thigh-grazing layer that peeks out from beneath a frothy tulle overlay, à la fashion queen Olivia Palermo.

mori-lee-6772 mori-lee-6743

17. Dramatic Veils:

Gone are the days of basic, boring headpieces. Instead, they’ve been replaced by stunning embellished veils, accented with intricate embroidery, delicate lace, beautifully textured beadwork, and even sparkling crystals.

Get creative and personalize the style with your own design like Angela Jolie, who famously adorned hers with her kids’ whimsical works of art.

18. Boho Trimmings:

While bohemian bridal gowns have been a mainstay in recent seasons, we’re seeing a profusion of hippie-infused styles in the year to come. Think floral-embroidered lace and open-weave crochet with Coachella-inspired accents like flowing bell sleeves, blouson bodices and ethereal streamer sleeves – flower crowns not included.

willowby-by-watters-everly-1 sottero-midgley-gabriella

19. High Halters:

The sporty beach babe style is back in action, thanks to its ability to help the bride cover up without covering it all. The incoming wave halter gowns feature demure shapes, delicate straps and soft, elegant fabrics for an ultra-feminine touch.

kennedy-blue-jacquelyn sottero-midgley-hunter-1

20. Tiered Skirts:

If you’re the type of bride that’s into high-drama designs but flashing a ton of flesh isn’t for you, then you’re in luck. Tucked quietly between the racy styles this past bridal week were relatively conservative silhouettes with voluminous, multi-layered and ruffled skirts for statement-making dimension and theatrical movement.

And there you have it. You’re now armed with the top 2017 Wedding Dress trends you’ll need to find a fresh, fun, fashion-forward bridal design for your upcoming nuptials. Happy shopping!

1920s Great Gatsby Bridesmaid Dresses

17 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Bridesmaids Dresses

Hello lovelies, are you all ready for your weekend? I have a rare personal post coming up today, but first, it’s time to look at another awesome Bridesmaid dress trend and this is one I’ve been looking forward to highlighting for a while. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE The Great Gatsby. Ever since I read it, I’ve been a little bit obsessed with the roaring ’20s. I’m also a little bit obsessed with Baz Luhrmann – Strictly Ballroom is my ALL TIME favourite film, with Romeo + Juliet coming a close second (although, let’s not talk about Moulin Rouge or Australia, kay?). So as you can imagine, I am dying to see the film. And the timing is perfect, because fashion and wedding world have been jonesing for this for ages – 1920s keeps being a trend, and it keeps getting better, especially with all the gorgeous embellished dresses around at the moment. Seriously, could someone doing this please make me their Bridesmaid? Because I so want an excuse to wear one of these beauties. Full disclosure: it’s not the most budget-friendly look, but it is mismatched (or even matched), glam, perfection. You don’t need to be having a vintage or Gatsby-themed wedding to pull it off either, but it will add a gorgeous touch of dapper flapper to your wedding style. Click on any of the dress images below to shop. For the most recent Gabtsby, Art Deco & 1920s BM dress finds, check in with our Bridesmaid Boutique Pinterest Board.

8 Tips For Finding the Perfect Wedding Dress

17 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Wedding Dresses

One of my favorite engaged moments was dress shopping without a doubt. But oh, what an adventure it is as you dive into the racks of gorgeous gowns! We’re in luck m’dears, for Lovely Bride SF is here to share their tips for finding that special dress. Josh Gruetzmacher snapped chic styles at their San Fran shop and with One True Love Vintage Rentals, the whole place is a dream. Gather up their advice and soak up all the pretty right this way!

Shop Early Enough

Typically, it can take between 7-9 months from when a bride orders her dress until it’s ready to walk down the aisle! While many of our designers can rush a dress order, it does add extra costs to the dress. With 7-9 months, you have a really comfortable timeline, and can eliminate any stress (and extra fees) in making sure your dress is ready and in perfect condition for the big day.

Set Your Budget

Before hitting the stores, it’s best to set a budget and know what you’re able to spend on your dress. While at your appointment, be upfront and clear with your stylist what your budget is. The stylist can then show you dresses that fall within your budget, that way you don’t fall in love with a dress that you can’t afford. We would hate for a bride to find her dream dress, then become disappointed that it’s out of her budget. Don’t forget the additional costs on top of the dress itself, such as alterations, accessories like veils and jewelry, as well as shoes and undergarments. These additions alone can cost an extra few hundred dollars, which many brides don’t initially think about.

Come Prepared

While shopping, come prepared! Bring the undergarments you’ll be wearing, or at the very least, wear a nude strapless bra and nude underwear (no hot-pink undies, please!). Have a Pinterest board ready to show the stylist; we love to see your inspiration! Come with some makeup on. While you don’t have to have a full face of makeup, having some makeup on can help you envision the entire look.

Shop with a Small Entourage

We always encourage a bride to come in with only her closest and most trustworthy confidants! In fact, our largest salon only accommodates four guests. When there are too many people in the party, the appointment can lose focus, and too many opinions can get in the way of what you, the bride, really feels. We advise brides to bring those who knows her style the best, and will be supportive of her opinions and choice!

Be Open-Minded

We love brides who come in with a vision of their big day, and have an idea of what styles they like. But we also love when brides come in open-minded about styles they might not necessarily see themselves in! You may surprise yourself and find a silhouette or style you did not originally consider to be the most flattering on you. And often times, trying on different styles can also help confirm a style you do NOT like, which is all part of the process!

Trust Your Stylist

On the same note, don’t be close-minded to your stylist’s suggestions. Even if you don’t initially love it on the hanger, you may end up falling in love with it! Our stylists dress multiple brides a day, and have seen our dresses on multiple bodies and body types, and have a good idea of what can be flattering on a bride.

Go During Off-Peak Hours

The weekends are our busiest days, and we’re often running from one bride to another. On the other hand, weekdays are quieter, and we are able to spend more quality time with the brides. If you can come on a weekday, you’ll be able to get more personal attention from the stylist.

Trust Your Instincts

Lastly, always trust your instincts! Ask yourself, can you see yourself walking down the aisle in the dress? If you have to be convinced to love a dress, that dress probably isn’t for you. You know best what feels right for you – no matter what anyone else thinks. After all, it’s your wedding, and it will be YOU wearing the dress!

40 Perfectly Imperfect Messy Hairstyles for All Lengths

16 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Wedding Hair

Untamed tousled hairstyles always seem so irresistibly charming and effortless that you simply can’t turn down their overwhelming appeal. There’s something extremely sexy and free of any constraint in tousled ‘dos, whether it’s an updo style, boyish pixie with sticking out feathers or fun loose curls. A messy style looks great on any length and type of hair – short or long, straight or curly, thick and flexible or fine and wispy. With the right approach you can create so many gorgeous and versatile looks with messy hair. Let some of them be stylish and extravagant, while others can remain on a more romantic side. Here are 40 ideas of envy-worthy hairstyles with messed up locks for short, medium-length and long hair.

How to Create Messy Locks?

“Maybe they simply stopped combing their hair?”, someone may think, contemplating some of the trendiest messy ‘dos at the biggest fashion shows. Well, messy hair often looks like an absolutely natural style but we know that certain manipulations do stand behind these perfectly imperfect looks. Normally for medium-length and long hair they include the following.

  1. Blow-drying and running your fingers through hair without combing.
  2. Upside down blowdrying or blowdrying in the opposite direction to the hair growth for added volume and layer enhancement.
  3. Haphazard curling for some locks with a flat iron.
  4. Applying texturizing/thickening spray or curl enhancing product all through the locks and squeezing them in your palms with optional light teasing at the roots to boost volume.
  5. A few final minutes of blowdry to fix the effect and a bit of hair spray as the last touch for the extra hold.

Best Messy Hairstyles

If your hair is short, a cute chaos can be easily organized with some wax or light pomade. Apply the product to wet hair and blow dry, pulling separate sections in different directions. Add a little bit more wax to the ends for a more distinct look.

Besides loose messy curls and chaotic straight tresses for longer hair you can experiment with a whole bunch of messy updos and downdos, including messy buns, knots, fishtails, half up and half down messy ‘dos, French twists and others. Here are some cute ideas to embrace.

#1: Short and Layered

messy shaggy tousled bob

Of course, short messy hairstyles are lovely too. Many of today’s layered cuts are actually shaped to look messy – that’s how popular this laid back trend has become. For women, layered hair that is shoulder length will look feminine without being a huge maintenance hassle.

#2: Formal Messy Hair

high messy updo

While many messy styles are designed for casual wear, there are also some formal styles for women that will look gorgeous on your prom or wedding day pictures. Messy buns can be further formalized with the addition of a hair embellishment or flowers.

#3: Youthful Updo

low messy updo with fishtail

A quick and easy updo that is often seen on young women is a side chignon with plenty of strands flying free around. If your hair is highlighted, this wrapped, pulled back style will really bring out all its beautiful colors.

#4: Messy French Twist for Ombre Hair

french twist for tousled hair

As traditional as formal affairs themselves, this classic chignon is a glamorous favorite updated as a messy updo. Whether you choose to French twist your hair or simply finger comb and secure with a clip, this hairstyle will work for all long haired girls.

#5: Triple Knot

three buns updo

Keep hair looking beautiful with a sexy updo that really can be qualified as a lazy hairstyle. It might look intricate, but really the beauty of this triple knotted updo is found in the fact it doesn’t stretch for perfection. Some hairs remain out of place while others are a bit askew. Nonetheless, the end result is stunning.

#6: Messy Hair with a Side Braid

Side Braid Messy Blonde Updo

If you’re in a rush and need an easy ‘do that will get you out the door in less than 10 minutes while still looking fabulous, try a hairstyle that rocks a feminine front braid. Simply plait the front of the hair and pull the rest of the hair into a side bun.

#7: Cute, Knotted and Messy

Loose Low Messy Bun

Messy buns are a staple in every girl’s hair portfolio, and with good reason. Try a mussed low chignon, that’s extra carefree, by letting some strands of hair go loose.

#8: Criss-Crossed Messy Hair

Messy Updo For Summer

Take your updo game up a knotch by overlapping that textured, messy hair into a fabulous formal shape. This hair style takes any look to the next level seamlessly. The updo is perfect for shoulder-length hair which can be hard to style at times.

#9: Twisted, Wavy and Messy

Wavy Half Updo

Get romantic by rocking a half-updo with twists and turns that are intricate and lovely. Make sure your hair is curled into beach waves before twisting two sections from opposite sides of the head and joining them in the back.

#10: Messy Blue and Purple Plait

Purple And Blue Balayage For Brown Hair

Show off that gorgeous mermaid-like hair color by flipping it into multiple topsy-tails that are full and tousled. Your hair will look voluminous and vibrant.

#11: Messy Mohawk Look

Double Mohawk Braid For Long Hair

The cool, faux-hawk look is very in right now, but that doesn’t mean you have to run to the stylist to have your hair shaved down the sides. Try one of many plaited messy hairstyles. This time try a Dutch braid down the middle and a small fishtail right next to it to give your ‘do some edge.

#12: Tousled, Messy Hair

Mid-Length Side-Parted Layered Hairstyle

Curly locks don’t have to be perfect. In fact, waves are at their best when they’re slightly undone and textured — especially when you`re messing them up for medium hair. You can achieve this by curling your hair with a large curling wand! Just flip your curled hair upside down and then style as needed.

#13: Cotton Candy Messy Braids

Two Messy Braids For Short Hair

If you just got your hair colored with magical shades like pink or blue, you have to show them off right! There’s no better way to showcase your pastel locks than braids. Try two messy pigtail plaits on for size.

#14: Braided Messy Pony

Messy Braided Hairstyle

Of all the cute messy hairstyles, this one may be the coolest, as it’s braided from start to finish … literally! Just French braid the back of the head (starting at the nape), until you hit the crown, then throw the style into a high pony. Braid the pony into a fishtail and secure with an elastic band. Tug at the pony braid to make it fuller and messier.

#15: Long and Messy Half Bun

Bun Half Updo For Long Hair

Sleep through your alarm? Put that bedhead look to good use by throwing it into a half-bun hairstyle. And don’t worry about making this hairdo too perfect. The messier the better!

#16: Topsy-Turvy Messy Hair

Low Messy Ponytail For Long Layered Hair

Remember the topsy-tail hairstyle of your childhood? It’s time to recreate the magic as an adult by tying that long, luscious hair into a topsy-turvy pony that literally let’s it all hang out.

#17: Tangled Messy ‘Do

Long Messy Ombre Hairstyle

Bring new meaning to the term “silver fox”! Metallic, messy hairstyles are fabulous when worn in twisted, knotted ways. Just take your long locks and tie them into several knots for a cascading ‘do!

#18: Messy Wrapped Low Pony

Low Lopped Pony For Long Hair

Can’t do a thing with your hair? Try styling it into a low pony … with a twist. When wrapping the elastic around your hair, stop the hair from going all the way through on the third time around. Then, pull a piece of hair out and wrap it around the base of the pony. This look is especially chic on straight hair.

#19: Plaited and Bunned Messy Hair

Wavy Messy Half Updo

The messy look never looked messier — or hotter! In addition to a chic, trendy half bun, a randomly placed braid is the perfect way show off your beautiful, boho waves.

#20: Multi-Braided Messy Hair

Two Braids Updo

If you’re torn between messy hairstyles with large, full accent braids and small ones, it’s time to put your mind at ease … and go for both! Messy ‘dos mean anything goes, so, layer a thick shoelace braid on top of a small Dutch braid that wraps around the back of the head. Finish it off with a side bun and you’re good to go!

#21: Messy Braided Updo

Messy Updo For Medium Hair

Who says a messy look can’t be elegant? Try a formal, undone updo that features two wraparound braids and some loose, curled locks.

#22: Bobbed and Messy Hair

Layered Lob With Side Bangs

Tousled, layered long bobs (which are medium-length bobs) are low in maintenance but high in chicness. All you need is a bit of texturizing spray or powder, and you are good to go.

#23: Chin-Length Messy Bob

Side-Parted Messy Bob

Nothing is hotter than short messy hairstyles! Take a page from your favorite celebs and try a messy, cute, chin-length bob. Simply curl your hair with a straightener, leaving the ends untouched, then fluff up the hair and break up the curls with your fingers.

#24: Double-Braided Messy Hair

Messy Side Bubble Braid

If two heads are better than one, imagine what two braids can do! Try a beautiful bohemian look by braiding the top front section of your hair, wrapping it around to the back of the head, and securing it to the hair. Then, create a side bubble braid with fishtail inserts. Pull at the plait to make it messier and fuller.

#25: Messy Low Chignon

Low Messy Updo

A low, undone side bun is messy hair at its finest. This look is about as classic as they come and looks amazing with everything from a formal gown to a sleek pant suit.

#26: Side Fishtail

side messy fishtail for long blonde hair

Messy hairstyles are fun to wear, and best of all, they don’t take a huge amount of effort. This laid back fishtail braid is made more beautiful by being faded out of a top twist and styled to the side.

#27: Braids and Twists Combined

messy side pony with braids and twists

The epitome of cute and messy styles comes in the form of combined hair elements. For this look, a French braid is paired with twists and a messy low pony. One total fashion perk for women with long hair? Being able to dress hair up in a bunch of different ways, but sometimes not having to settle on a single style at once.

#28: Long Haired Loveliness

half up messy knot

You don’t need to try too hard to look beautiful if you already have long hair. This sexy hair look is the epitome of lazy hairstyles. Messy hair is made gorgeous simply by pulling the top layer into a half up bun. Messy buns are ever popular and work well in a variety of hair types.

#29: Curly and Messy Ponytail

long tousled curly ponytail

When it comes to quick hair styling, go for styles that aren’t too difficult and bank them into your memory. While there are some days when you will need to dress up your tresses, too many of us forget about the beauty that comes from messy waves and sloppy straightness.

#30: Fauxhawk Ponytail

fauxhawk updo for ombre hair

By adulthood, we’ve all conquered the ponytail. But when you need a messy ponytail that really takes the cake, check out this idea with its twists and volume. If you have long hair and are seeking a change, try this Mohawk-inspired style on for size.

#31: Simple and Tasteful

tousled chignon updo

While it won’t work on all hair types, a brushed back messy bun for long hair really looks beautiful. Make a low loose knot leaving some extra strands from the top layer of your hair to cover its base. Bring those strands to the centre and pin in place to cover the elastic, securing your knot. Don’t worry if some strands break free – that’s the whole point of messy hair life.

#32: Formal Style

red messy low updo with a jeweled headband

This low, formal updo hairstyle includes some choppy layers that frame the face. A hair embellishment like the pearl headband shown in the photo will bring a touch of glamour to hair that honestly doesn’t take a whole lot of effort.

#33: Imperfect Low Bun

messy bun for long hair

This bun looks like it was done with your little daughter’s hands. Messy hairstyles are best when they are versatile, and you can definitely wear this one to either a formal or casual occasion.

#34: Spiky yet Feminine

loose updo with a side fishtail

This style can be worn as a long layered bob brushed back if you have shorter hair or as a low loose updo for long locks. Two toned hair looks amazing in this style, and so does the chunky fishtail, messily incorporated into the side.

#35: Thin Hair Beauty

Fine, straight hair can often wage war against messy hairstyles. In fact, it often achieves a messy look naturally, but not in the styles you’ll like. If you have thin hair, try securing it in this French braid-inspired updo that still leaves room for flyaways down the back and sides.

#36: Shoulder Length Sass

medium layered red haircut

Medium messy hairstyles sometimes don’t even involve any twist, braid or curl. Get a choppy layered cut and wear your hair “as it is” to achieve this lazy hairstyle that’s gorgeous and super simple.

#37: Fishtail Half Updo

This half up half down style with a fishtail headband is suitable for all hair types. Not so great at fishtail braids? They can certainly be tricky, but fortunately for this hairdo, messy is welcome.

#38: Fauxhawk Knots

messy double knot updo

A single knot might look a bit too casual and even banal these days, but two knots are a whole new story. Pull your shoulder length hair into two large knots at the back of the head for this easy updo that is inspired by the more formal top knot.

#39: Ponytail with a Twist

tousled ponytail for medium hair

Messy hair is the right texture for a modern casual ponytail. This one is made a bit more grown up with a twisted piece held in place with a hairpin, effectively concealing the hair elastic. If your hair is highlighted or layered, then you can make it look even more fun.

#40: Super Simple Bun

With all of these fancy takes on messy style, it can be difficult to remember that this is a trend that shouldn’t require much effort. If you aren’t so into layers, twists, braids and hair accessories, simply pile your hair into a top knot and be on your way. Don’t stress if some hairs are out of place – in fact, that’s preferred. And you won’t even have to try to look amazing.

Getting every hair in its place can be pretty boring especially when you strive to avoid morning rush. Thanks God, nonchalant chic is not going to be out of fashion in the near future, so why not to incorporate a few of these great messy styles into your chic spring and summer looks?

8 Easy Hairstyles For Even The Busiest Women

15 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Wedding Hair

We all have those days where we can barely drag ourselves out of bed, let alone take care of our kids, run them around to all their school and extra curricular activities, cook, clean, and go to work. On those days it’s tempting just to throw your hair up in a ponytail or bun and even thought it’s easy to do that, it doesn’t always look that professional or beautiful. For those lazy, tiring, or busy days, try doing one of these 8 easy hairstyles that anyone can do. They’ll look stunning without having to put in a lot of effort.

1. Flower Braid

This hairstyle is incredibly easy to do, but creates such a unique look. All you have to do is pull back one section of hair on either side of your head in the front, then tie it in a ponytail in the back. Then, braid the hair as far down as you can, tie it off, and pull out some of the hair to loosen the braid. Then wrap it around in circles a few times and bobby pin it in place to create this flower look. This shouldn’t take you longer than 5 minutes and looks beautiful.

2. Twisted Halo

I love how incredibly simple this hairstyle is. I can’t believe I’ve never though about doing it myself. Just take some hair from the front sections of your hair, twist it as you pull it back on your head, then bobby pin it. As you do the second twist, cross it over the first twist to create the look you want.

3. Twisted Bangs

It’s no secret that our bangs can sometimes be the most frustrating part about doing our hair. Sometimes we just need to get the hair off of our face and out of our eyes. A simple and easy solution is to take the front section of your hair and twist it towards the back of your head, then pin it in place and that’s all!

(Harper’s BAZAAR is an online magazine that is full of fashion advice, beauty tips, celebrity gossip).

4. Pony Tail Curls

Curled hair always looks beautiful, but actually creating those curls can be really annoying and time consuming. For an easier way to achieve some curls, put your hair up in a ponytail, then divide it into two sections. Take each section and twist it, then run your curling iron over the twist a few times. Do the same thing on the other section of the ponytail, then let all your hair down, and you’ll have some curls. It’s as simple as that.

(Check out Pretty Gossip for everything you need to know about hair, skin, nails, and everything else related to beauty).

5. Full Ponytail

Ever wish you could just throw your hair up in a ponytail and that it would actually look beautiful? For some reason ponytails can just be really boring, but if you add a little volume to it, it creates more interest. All you have to do is divide the top and bottom of your ponytail in two, then place a hair clip between the two sections and let the top section fall down and cover it up. You’ll have instant volume.

(Head over to Artzy Creations for fun craft ideas, beauty tips, yummy recipes, and lots more).

6. No Slip Bun

Buns are really popular right now, but sometimes it’s hard keep them in place all day long. For an easy way to secure your bun while still getting the same look, try this hairstyle. Put your hair in two ponytails in the back of your head to begin with. Then twist each section and then wrap them around each other and secure with another hair tie or bobby pins.

(Head over to Cosmopolitan for fashion advice, dating tips, celebrity news, and more).

7. Longer Ponytail

Again, a simple ponytail just looks so boring. If you want to have a longer ponytail that looks beautiful, put two ponytails in your hair. One at the crown of your head, then one near the bottom of your head. The top ponytail will cover up the bottom one and will create the illusion that you have a really long, fun ponytail.

(Makeup is a great website full of beauty tips, trends, tutorials, and reviews).

8. Easy, 5 Minute Waves

Getting those effortless beach waves isn’t always so effortless. It can actually be really hard to do. However, now you can create them in 5 minutes and very easily. All you have to do is braid your hair, then run your flat iron over the braid a few times. The heat will curl the hair as it’s in the braid and will create those perfect beach waves in minutes.

8 Things Brides Forget To Do After The Wedding Reception

09 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Wedding Ideas

Most brides think that after they’ve made it down the aisle, said those fateful vows and capped it all off with a massive party that their wedding responsibilities come to an end. But no–you’re wrong. Your to-dos have not ended just because the last guest has come and gone. As a Mrs. there are several tasks you must tend to before you jet off on that magical honeymoon. Yes, we know you are exhausted from all the schmoozing, chatting, dancing, and smiling, but if you fail to take care of these last must-dos you’ll miss out on some true goodies down the road. So don’t go comotose on us yet!

8 Things Brides Forget To Do After The Wedding Reception

Drop Off Wedding Gown To Cleaner

Drop off wedding gown to be cleaned. It is going to be dirty–trust us. It has been dragged around a dance floor, through grass, across bathroom tiles, you name it. Any chance of preserving the gorgeous gown means getting it to a proper cleaning company ASAP. Unfortunately, they sometimes suggest you cut off the bottom if it is really bad. Just make this a number one task after the big event.

Preserve Top Layer of Cake

Preserve the top layer of your wedding cake. Assign someone, like your mother-in-law or your coordinator, to save the top tier of your cake before the wedding. Right after, you will want to store it properly in a freezer. Properly means removing any edible flowers (they will rot) or other non-food details and wrap the box in Saran wrap followed by a layer of tinfoil. On your one-year anniversary, bust that bad boy out and enjoy with champagne!

Collect Your Gifts

Collect all gifts left at venue. Again, this task should be assigned to someone or a space should be set up to collect envelopes and gifts (yes, people may hand you actual gifts at the reception). Make sure these are scooped up post-wedding by either yourself or a family member or friend. Don’t you want that cold, hard cash?! We thought so. Plus, you’ll have thank you notes to write.

Collect Floral Decorations

Collect all floral arrangements and decor accessories. Many times, your florist will come back the next day to collect any vases, candle holders, etc. that they have provided. But sometimes, this task falls on you. Wedding venues tend to clean up very quickly, which means if you leave it, they will trash it. Make sure you get that nice cake cutter you brought or the church urns your coordinator brought to the reception for flowers.

Pick up lost goods

Pick up any lost goods. There will always be those guests who leave behind essentials (uncomfortable shoes, ties, suit jackets, etc), especially if the dance floor is cray. If your venue is near your hometown, do everyone the favor of collecting the lost goods and bring them home for owners to collect. Or have the venue keep them in a safe space until they can be picked up. Your guests will thank you. Plus, you or your hubby may leave things behind, too!

Check For Damages

Check for any damage to property. This is super important. Most wedding venue contracts will have a clause relating to property damage caused during your event. And you can guess who that bill gets sent to. If you are too tired to do it the night of, make a quick stop there the next day to walk around and inspect. (This is also a good time to look for any lost items.)

8 Ways To Surprise Your Groom On The Big Day: From Sweet Notes To Fireworks

07 Oct 2016 Posted by trubridal in Wedding Ideas

When it comes to wedding planning, the groom oftentimes takes a backseat. Since the attention is mostly on the bride, it’s easy to overlook the guy — even though he’s kind of an important part of the day (you can’t have a wedding without him).

Remind your man that the day is as much about him as it is about you by throwing in a surprise or two. Click through the slideshow above for 8 ways to catch your man off guard (in a good way!), from sweet love notes to sexy boudoir photos, to renting sick getaway cars and fireworks.

Bridal Boudoir

Boudoir photos: While he is getting ready, deliver him an album of boudoir photos of yourself. You may want to time this to when you know he won’t have a gaggle of groomsmen around him.

Wedding Band

Booze: Send over a stash of booze for the fellas to enjoy while they are getting ready. It’s a gift you know will be appreciated.

Love Note

Love Note: Right before you walk down the aisle – when everyone is lined up in front and ready to go — have the flower girl hand your man a note from you. It could be something simple like, “I can’t wait to kiss you.” He certainly won’t be expecting it and his reaction will be photo worthy.

If you have a sense of humor, have a ring bearer walk down the aisle with a sign that says, “Run, [Groom’s Name], Run!” Your guests will get a kick out of it and it will make for some great photos.

Patron Shots

Give in to something you kiboshed during planning the wedding: Maybe you didn’t want to hand out shots of Patron at the reception because you didn’t want the party to get too rowdy. Arrange for them. Were you worried that a cigar bar may stink up the dance floor? Find a way to make it work. If he really wanted a groom’s cake with his sport team’s logo on it, give in.

Getaway Car

Rent An Amazing Get Away Car: He’ll be expecting a limo or a town car. Surprise him with a Bentley, a Checkered Cab, or whatever would catch him off guard.

Fireworks: Surprise everyone — guests and groom! — with a grand finale fireworks display as you dash off.
